Shawn Samery

Retail Operations Manager, Perfect Union - Shawn Samery is a seasoned legacy cannabis expert, having operated in the industry for over 15 years. Mr. Samery joined the founding members of Perfect Union a year later when opening their flagship store, River City Phoenix, in 2010. Shawn is the most experienced and knowledgeable employee regarding day-to-day dispensary flow and functions. His experience is unmatched, having worked as a budtender to general manager, BSIS licensed security guard, and even payroll. Mr. Samery has planned the layouts of Perfect Union’s facilities and overseen all buildouts over the past 14 years. He graduated from WECA College in 2006, where he obtained his Electrician Trainee Program Certification and completed his apprenticeship. He then became a certified Journeyman and received his C10 license after completing his four-year apprenticeship program. Shawn is immensely dedicated to compassion programs and helping medicinal patients in their time of need. He oversees Perfect Union’s compassion programs and ensures the medicinal patients are well taken care of. Shawn has also worked with local municipalities on restoration projects such as adopt-a-park in Oakland and Turlock and has actively volunteered through food banks and shelters.

Angelica Sanchez

Senior Director, Government Affairs and Compliance, MWG Holdings Group, Inc. -- Angelica Sanchez has worked in the cannabis industry for eight years and received her bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Sacramento State University. She currently serves on the California Cannabis Industry Association Legislative Committee and the National Cannabis Industry Association State Regulations Committee, where she advocates for fair and sustainable cannabis policies. In her free time, she serves on the Board of Directors for the Rainbow Chamber Foundation, which provides support, scholarships, and business funding to the greater Sacramento LGBTQ community and allies.

Chelsea Haskins, Director of State and Local Licensing for Perfect Union - Chelsea Haskins obtained her bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from California State University of Chico. She has a diverse legal background, with over four years of experience in local government, working at the Shasta County District Attorney’s Office. Before entering the cannabis industry, Chelsea volunteered her time to provide legal research assistance to inmates in California, significantly enhancing their defense strategies. In 2020, Chelsea joined Perfect Union as a paralegal, leveraging her foundation in governmental processes and regulatory framework. Her expertise lies in writing detailed applications for cannabis businesses, including those related to land use and competitive licensing processes. She navigates the complex landscape of California regulations, ensuring each license has a developed plan to exceed the diverse regulatory requirements of state and local jurisdictions. Her knowledge extends beyond California, as she managed licensing for New Mexico and Rhode Island operators. She also oversaw compliance matters for a vertically integrated cannabis business in New Mexico. Chelsea’s influence in the cannabis industry is further exemplified by her role as Vice Chair of the NCIA’s Cannabis Cultivation Committee.
